Moving communities forward

At NewDay, our purpose doesn’t stop with our products. We strongly believe we have a broader responsibility to support the communities we serve and society in general. This means partnering with organisations that share our vision for helping people move forward in their lives.

Our community partner, Family Action

NewDay is proud to support its charity partner, Family Action, who strive to build stronger families and brighter lives. Family Action closely shares NewDay’s vision to help create forward progression in people’s lives, providing practical, emotional and financial support to strengthen communities and improve opportunities.

I am so proud of the partnership we have with NewDay – our longest standing partner. We have a strong shared purpose – together we work to transform lives and to help people experiencing poverty and disadvantage to move forward.

NewDay supports Family Action in a wide variety of ways – including staff fundraising challenges, volunteering, gifts in kind as well as regular donations to our work. This generous support makes a huge difference to communities up and down the country. We look forward to working together in the coming years and further developing our brilliant partnership.

Impact powered by our people

Our colleagues are driven to make an impact in our communities. Our Charity Committee consists of inspired and motivated colleagues who actively promote and organise various fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Themes vary and have recently included support of those affected by war and inspiring and supporting young females into STEM careers.

Each year, colleagues donate their support to Family Action through a range of initiatives including the annual Toy Appeal, internal fundraising activities and events such as The London Marathon, RideLondon and skydives. Over 250 hours of time were volunteered to Family Action’s Food on our Doorstop (FOOD) clubs in 2023.

During my volunteering experience we met some interesting people and it was amazing to hear how the food bank service was positively contributing to their lives, especially in this financial climate. Participating has had a longer-term impact on me, which I hope will be a small way that I can help give back to the community.

Driving the credit conversation forward

In 2023, NewDay supported the Demos Good Credit Index, helping to ignite an important nationwide conversation around access to credit. The index highlights the value of access to quality credit and provides an important platform for market participants to engage with.

The Good Credit Index maps access to ‘good credit’ (fair and affordable) measured at a local level and provides location-based strategies for building better credit around the country.
